Caritas Hudec Jaffna commemorated’the world food day today. Our beneficiaries exhibited their products. Caritas Hudec Jaffna has organised a tree planting campaign and distribution of trees to the beneficiaries at Kopay DS division. The event was at Puttur Market place. The National staff from Sedec participated and visited the beneficiaries houses under the Safeguarding Environmental program 50 Singalese brethren came from Anuradapura to Jaffna to stay with our Tamil families on 19th and 20th this month. They stayed at Navanthurai with our inter religious group. Caritas Hudec Jaffna has conducted a seminar for 100 O/L students from nearby schools on mathematics at St Patrick’s college on 19th October. Seminar on Leadership skills and importance of education was held at HUDEC-Caritas Jaffna, on 17-10-2024 from 9.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. Educational Assistance to Economic Crisis & War Affected Poor Children in Northern Province of Sri Lanka 2024/25, project funded by Caritas Korea through the National Centre, Caritas Sri Lanka-SEDEC (CSL) is being implemented for nearly six years. Revd. Fr. S. Eugene Francis, Director HUDEC-Caritas Jaffna delivered the introductory talk at the seminar and handed over the souvenir of appreciation to 15 students who got through the GCE O/L examination. 66 students who have been receiving the monthly educational assistance participated in the seminar. The seminar was conducted by Mr.T. Neelamparan, Skill Development District Coordinator Jaffna and Mr. R.Sarveswara, Lecturer in Education, Department of Education- University of Jaffna. The seminar was organised by Miss. Nithila Mariampillai, Programme Manager and Miss. Dorin Kawsalya, Finance Officer of HUDEC-Caritas Jaffna.
