Seminar on education about the dangers of drugs and narcotic use for the students from Grade 6 to 11 was held on 26th of February 2025, at Pandeterippu Retreat House. Seventy -two (72) Students (34 Female & 38 Male) from Sillalai and Pandeterippu participated in the seminar.
This seminar was conducted under the project ‘Educational Assistance to Economic Crisis & War Affected Poor Children in Northern Province of Sri Lanka 2024/25’, funded by Caritas Korea through the National Centre, Caritas Sri Lanka-SEDEC (CSL).
Revd. Fr. Jesuthasan, Parish Priest of Pandeterippu gave an introduction to the students. The seminar was conducted by Mr. A. Dupinson, Drug Prevention Officer, Divisional Secretariat, Sandilipay, Mr. T. Ravimohan, Child Protection Officer, Divisional Secretariat, Sandilipay and Miss. Grace Hensman, Senior Lecturer, University of Jaffna.
This seminar was organised with the guidance of Revd. Fr. S. Eugene Francis, Director, HUDEC-Caritas Jaffna; by Miss. Nithila Mariampillai, Programme Manager and Miss. Dorin Kawsalya, Finance Officer of HUDEC-Caritas Jaffna.
